Adaptiv Software Adopts Online Identity as Corporate Name; Workplace Scheduling Application Experts to Host America Online's First Interactive Conference on the Topic Jan. 10; Worldwide Web Home Page Debuts Today.

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 9, 1994--Adaptiv Software Corp., formerly Adaptive Software Inc., has changed its corporate name and logo to maintain consistency with its online screen name, "Adaptiv" in both the America Online and Internet domains.

The name change takes effect as the company launches a proactive effort to introduce, promote, market and sell its popular PeopleScheduler workforce scheduling software product to the online community.

"We want to establish a consistent identity in all markets, and we are known as `Adaptiv' in the online world," said Bob Kimball, Adaptiv senior vice president of sales and marketing. "By changing our name to match our online addresses, we can achieve this, while maintaining the recognition we already have as the makers of PeopleScheduler."

On Jan. 10, 6 p.m. Pacific, 9 p.m. Eastern, Adaptiv will host its first "Rotunda" on America Online. The rotunda is a forum for interactive discussion among AOL subscribers on topics of interest. Adaptiv has also developed interactive content, questions, answers and tips on the subject of workforce scheduling as well as product information on its software solution, PeopleScheduler (R) PLUS, for the Internet. Adaptiv's "home page" will debut on the Worldwide Web today at http:\\www.adaptiv.com.

A recent America Online posting of PeopleScheduler information generated questions and raised issues concerning managing the company schedule in today's changing workforce. Ken Forbes, Adaptiv's president and chief executive officer, who has more than ten years of executive experience in scheduling issues, will co-host next Tuesday's interactive conference with Bob Kimball.

"Employers and employees faced with contingent schedules, flex-time and part-time situations, job sharing, outsourcing and other unique arrangements have a very real need to reduce the amount of time they spend on this necessary task," Forbes stated. "But, managers and supervisors in restaurants, emergency service organizations, telemarketing outfits, catalog and retail companies have always faced scheduling nightmares, namely spending more than half of their work week developing and then changing, the company work schedule.
