GAMES FOR CHALLENGED AT AMSTERDAM.(Local)

Physically challenged children ages 5-21 are gearing up to participate in the New York State Parks Games for the Physically Challenged on Saturday, April 25 at Amsterdam High School. More than 180 youngsters from western New York are expected.

"The competitors are wonderful, and they get so excited," according to Mary Skelly of Delmar, a volunteer.

Skelly, an area exercise runner involved in track and physical fitness clubs, expects to be working with the track competition this year.

For many of these youngsters this is the only day they get to compete on a level with their disability, she explained. …
